Cross Country Skiing
Cross country skiing is a winter sport that promotes superior physical conditioning, while providing enjoyment for athletes of all ages. Events are designed for athletes of every ability level, as athletes work to propel themselves across snow-covered terrain using skis and poles.
Bocce is an Italian game of skill and strategy. The basic principle of the sport is to roll a bocce ball closest to the target ball, which is called a pallina (the smallest ball). The sport allows athletes the opportunity to have social contact, develop physically and to gain self-confidence.
Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs or groups perform spins, jumps, footwork and other intricate and challenging moves on ice skates. Figure skaters compete at various levels from beginner up to advanced. Figure skating is one of the few judged Special Olympics sports.
