Bocce

Traditional

Place the pallino on the center of the 40 foot line. The player rolls all 8 balls towards the pallino.  Measure the closest 3 throws in inches. These three distances will be submitted for your final score.

  • Unified Bocce is a combination of the 3 scores from the athlete and 3 scores from the Unified partner. You will add the three distances (in inches) together to submit 3 total scores.
    • Example: Athlete has scores of 2, 3, 4; Partner has scores of 3, 4, 6. Combined score will be 5, 7, 10 (all measurements in inches)

Modified

Place the pallino on the center of the 10 foot line.

Cycling

250M

Map out a 250 meter course around your neighborhood or in an open, marked-off parking lot. Record the time it takes to ride the course.

1K

Map out a 1 kilometer (1K) course around your neighborhood or in an open, marked-off parking lot. Record the time it takes to ride the course.

5K: Traditional or Unified

Map out a 5 kilometer (5K) course around your neighborhood. You can measure by using an online mapping service, phone app or watch. Record the time it takes to ride the course. Recommended only for practicing cyclists.

  • Unified: For athletes and Unified partners wishing to race together as a team against other Unified teams, the times for both riders (athlete and Unified partner) are combined for a total team time.

Golf presented by Amerisure

9-hole, Par 36

Golfers will participate at any Par 36 golf course (9 holes). Golfers will submit their final score for 9 holes. All 9-hole golf rules apply.

  • Unified will combine the scores for the athlete and Unified partner to get one total score for your Unified team.

Softball presented by Amerisure

Base Running: Traditional or Unified

You will need 4 objects that will can be stepped on and used as bases (bases, poly dots, carpet squares, etc.). These items will be placed in a diamond fashion like bases on a softball diamond.

  • Place the first object on the ground - this will be home plate. Next, measure 65 feet to the right at a 45-degree angle and place the next object on the ground (first base). Measure 65 feet to the left at a 45-degree angle and place the next object on the ground (second base). Measure 65 feet again at a 45-degree angle and place your final object on the ground (third base). Your third object and first object should now also be 65 feet apart, making a diamond shape like a softball field with each object/base 65 feet apart.
  • Record the amount if time it takes to run all four objects/bases by running from home plate to first base to second base to third base and then back to home plate.
  • Unified will combine the times for the athlete and Unified partner to get one total time for your Unified team.

Fielding

Air Squat: record the number of air squats you can do in two minutes. The athlete starts in front of a chair or corner of a box with feet shoulder-width apart. Bending at the knee, the athlete squats as closely as possible to sitting without touching the seat. At the same time, as the athlete reaches the bottom of the squat, touch the ground with one hand and then go back up to the standing position to complete one repetition. The score is the total number of air squats completed within two minutes.

Pitching: Traditional or Unified

Mark a 3-foot by 3-foot box on the ground with tape or chalk. Measure 40 feet from the box; this is where the athlete will stand. The athlete throws 10 softballs with an underhand motion, trying to get as many balls in the box as possible. Repeat three times for a total of 30 throws. The score is the total number of throws made into the box from the 30 attempts.

  • Unified: A two-person team consisting of one athlete and one Unified partner can compete in a Unified option for this event. Event set up is the same with each team member completing the event once. Add the total score for the athlete and Unified partner together for the final team score to be submitted.

Fitness

Push-up

Record the number of push-ups you can do in a row for the duration of 60 seconds. In order to perform a legal push-up, the athlete must lower his/her head and upper body to the floor, touch the chest to the floor, and return to the starting position (arms extended straight at the top of the pushup). The athlete’s back must remain straight. Score is the total number of push-ups you can do in 60 seconds without stopping.

Sit-up

Record the number of sit-ups you can do in two minutes. Athlete starts in supine (back flat on the floor) position with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.  Athlete keeps arms folded across his/her chest with hands grasping opposite shoulders. To perform a complete sit-up, an athlete must touch one of his/her elbows to the thighs or knees. Full sit-up is necessary for it to count. Score is the total number of full sit ups you do in two minutes.

6-Minute Walk

You will measure out distance of 30 meters, marking the beginning with a cone and end with a cone.  The two cones represent the loop that will be followed to count the amount of laps obtained during the six minutes.  The amount of laps will be the score submitted.

If you are in-between two cones when the timer stops you will measure the distance from the last cone to where you stopped.  For total distance you will take the laps completed X length of the course (30 meters) + Last Lap distance = the total to be submitted.
