Thank you for teaming up with Special Olympics Michigan and the Annual Miles for Medals Walk.  In 2009 our goal is to raise over $100,000!  With your help we can do it!

Proceeds raised through the Miles for Medals Walk events support local programs and services for people with intellectual disabilities and their families.  Special Olympics Michigan embraces nearly 17,000 athletes who train in 23 sports, and compete in over 400 local and seven statewide events.  Throughout the state of Michigan, more than 20,000 volunteers work together with athletes and coaches to define Special Olympics by creating quality competitions.

Funds raised from events such as this have significantly helped advance our mission around the state.  Through our program of sports training and competition, YOU can change the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.  However, the effect of donor gifts goes well beyond the ball fields and playing courts.  The influence extends into classrooms, family rooms and work environments, where our athletes---because of their participation in Special Olympics---have become more effective and productive students, family members, and employees.

If you have any questions about Special Olympics Michigan, please visit our web site at www.somi.org, or call the Special Olympics Michigan office at 800-644-6404.

Together we can make a difference.
