State Winter Games

Location: Traverse City / Bellaire

The State Winter Games will be held February 2 - 5, 2010 at the Grand Traverse Resorts & Spa in Acme, Howe Ice Arena in Traverse City and Schuss Village in Bellaire 

QUICK FACTS 

Approximately 1, 100 athletes, coaches & 500 volunteers 

Events include:

Alpine Skiing (slalom, giant slalom and downhill) at Schuss Village

Snowboarding (slalom, giant slalom and super giant slalom) at Schuss Village   

Cross-Country Skiing (50M, 100M, 250M, 500M, 1K, 3K and 5K) at Schuss Village 

Snowshoeing (30M, 50M, 75M, 100M, 200M and 400M) at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa

Figure Skating (compulsory and freestyle) at Howe Arena 

Speed Skating (25M, 30M, 50M, 100M, 300M, 500M and 800M) at Howe Arena

GENERAL SCHEDULE
Tuesday
All day - Delegations arrive

Wednesday
8:00 a.m.- Time trials begin at GTRS and Howe Arena
9:00 a.m.- Time trials begin at Schuss
1:15 p.m. - Special Events activities begin at GTRS and Schuss
3:30-5:00 p.m. - Wertz Warriors athlete snowmobile rides at GTRS
7:30 p.m. - Opening Ceremonies at GTRS

Thursday
8:00 a.m. - Competition begins at GTRS and Howe Arena
9:00 a.m. - Competition begins at Schuss
9:00 a.m. - Special Events activities begin at GTRS and Schuss
7:30-9:30 p.m. - Closing Ceremonies and Victory Dance at GTRS

Friday
8:15 a.m. - Finals Competition at GTRS
9:00 a.m. - Finals Competition at Schuss
1:30 p.m. - Delegations depart
