272 athletes, coaches and chaperones will gather on Sat. March 5, 2011 for the 2011 District Basketball Tournament at Handy Intermediate School in Bay City, Mich. The competition will feature senior male teams, which include athletes about 16 and older.  

Teams will include athletes from eight areas and from the following counties, (Area 3) Presque, Isle, Montmorency, Alcona, Alpena, (Area 4) Crawford, Oscoda, Roscommon, Ogemaw, (Area 22) Saginaw, Shiawassee, (Area 9) Bay, Arenac, (Area 10) Huron, Tuscola, Sanilac, St. Clair, (Area 13) Genesee, Lapeer, (Area 30) Midland and (Area 31) Iosco.

Game day schedule is as follows:
7:45 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. - Registration
8:20 a.m. - Opening Ceremonies
8:30 a.m. - Competition Begins
10:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Special Events
11:00 a.m. - Lunch
Awards will be given out immediately following games competition.

Games will consist of four six minute quarter. First place teams will receive a trophy and second through fourth place teams will receive ribbons immediately after the tournament. Special Events including arts and crafts and other interactive activities will be offered throughout the day.

District Basketball Tournaments will take place in six communities including St. Johns, Bay City, Northville, Saline, Caledonia and Escanaba.
The State Basketball Finals will be held March 25-26 at Rockford High School in Grandville. Approximately 800 athletes, coaches and chaperones will be in attendance.
Anyone is encouraged to attend, donate, or volunteer.
