More than 800 Special Olympics Michigan athletes and 300 coaches/chaperones from around the state will gather Oct. 19 and 20 in Warren for the 2012 State Soccer Finals. The competition will take place at Halmich Park and the GM Tech Center.

The State Soccer Finals is one of  more than a dozen state-level competitions held annually for SOMI athletes. There are also more than 440 annual local and regional competitions.

This event offers a wide variety of opportunities to the media. Special Olympics Michigan athletes, volunteers and coaches will be available for interviews and photographs. This is the 32nd consecutive year the GM Men's and Women's Clubs have hosted this tournament.
