Law Enforcement Torch Run Kickoff Conference and Banquet

Michigan Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) started off the year on a great note at the Special Olympics Michigan 2012 LETR Kickoff Conference on Jan. 12 at the Holiday Inn in Midland. Law Enforcement throughout Michigan gathered together to honor various officers and get LETR eager for the upcoming year.

The conference started off by giving LETR a chance to discuss recruitment for the upcoming year, among other matters. Following the conference, members of LETR had a fun time participating in a dodge ball tournament at the Midland Community Center. The tournament raised excitement for the upcoming dodge ball fundraiser that LETR will put on for Special Olympics Michigan athletes. Later that night the Kickoff Conference Banquet was held. Special Olympics Michigan took the opportunity to congratulate the Michigan LETR on receiving the Diamond Award for reaching their million dollar year. The 2012 Kickoff Conference sponsor was Michigan Corrections Organization/SEIU.

Many officers involved in LETR received awards for excellent service at the banquet.

Top five Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) fundraising agencies: MDOC Coldwater, MDOC Charles Egeler, MDOC Handlon, MDOC Algermax and E.C. Brooks/West Shoreline Corrections.
