Forward Corporation kicks off a fundraising promotion February 1 for the entire month of February to sell paper icons for $1 each at all 28 of their Shell Food Marts/Convenience Stores. Forward Corporation has been a corporate sponsor of Special Olympics Michigan for many years. They are providing incentives for their employees to excel in icon sales. To demonstrate their commitment to Special Olympics Michigan to their employees, they are requiring the icon sale as their suggestive sell for the month!

The icon sales through Forward Corporation have raised thousands of dollars over the years, in addition to the money raised by their annual golf outing. In 2011 alone, Forward Corporation raised more than $32,000 for Special Olympics Michigan athletes.

"We have partnered with Special Olympics Michigan for more than 10 years. We are impressed with the caliber of people who work for Special Olympics Michigan. We feel very confident that the money we raise is benefiting the athletes. When attending the State Summer and State Winter Games, what we have witnessed and learned by visiting with the clients, workers, and families of these clients was very clear, and an affirmation of what our contributions mean to this organization. It is important work that Special Olympics Michigan does and we are very proud to be a part of it," said Forward Corporation Business Relations Department Manager Diane Morley.

The Shell Food Marts/Convenience Stores are located from Gaylord in the north, Tawas in the east, Midland to the west and Saginaw to the south.
