Athletes Prepare to Ride into Competition at the 2012 State Cycling Finals!

More than 150 Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI) athletes are gearing up for some more competition! The 2012 State Cycling Finals is almost here. State Cycling Finals are on Saturday, September 8 at Chrysler Group LLC's Chelsea Proving Grounds. Bike inspections begin at 7:30 a.m. with competition beginning at 9 a.m.
A total of 15 events are available for bicycles, tricycles, and Unified team and tandem events.
SOMI is also putting on the second Flag Football Expo at the State Cycling Finals. Eight teams are competing in flag football as a trial run for this sport in hopes that flag football will become and official SOMI sport in 2013.
Thank you Chrysler for being the event sponsor, and thank you to all of the other supporters of the 2012 State Cycling Finals. Bring a lawn chair, and come cheer on the athletes!
